Dubai Metals and Commodities Centre (DMCC)

DMCC was launched as a new Free Zone on 1st May 2002. Its objective is to provide the market infrastructure and trading platform for its three core contracts – Gold, Diamonds and Commodities.

Offering unique business opportunities for participants in a wide range of metals and commodities industries, DMCC provides facilities that bring together the Gold trade, the Diamond trade, and trading in other selected Commodities. The centre aims to attract key players throughout the entire value chain, together with relevant support industries such as finance, logistics and insurance. The Centre includes the Dubai Diamond Exchange along with the Gold and Commodity Exchanges.

The first phase of the Dubai Diamond Exchange became operational in early December 2004 and the DDE is a member of the World Diamond Council, which ensures international standards of security, settlement and handling as well as mutual access for traders to 24 WDC certified diamond exchanges worldwide. In addition to the region’s only diamond exchange, the DDE houses vaulting facilities for safe custody of diamonds and other precious commodities.
