Dubai Maritime City Free Zone

 

Dubai is building, the world's largest maritime development , consisting of  a 2.3 million square metre man made peninsula, costing Dhs. 650 million ( US$ 177 million ). The Dubai Maritime City (DMC) will provide world-class maritime services catering to maritime industries.

 

The maritime city, now being built between Port Rashid and Dubai Dry Docks, will cater to a diverse international maritime clientele and will focus on national, regional and international companies and institutions involved in maritime related business in six areas: marine services, management, product marketing, research and education, recreation, ship design and manufacturing. The maritime city will have a separate set of rules and regulations and this will be drafted through consultations with prospective participants.

 

The Regional Clean Sea Organisation (RESCO) funded by major oil companies has chosen the Maritime City as its base for anti-pollution and oil spill cleanup operations.
