Jumeirah
Beach Residence is a development offering a permanent
beach resort lifestyle. This unique urban community includes
shopping malls (The Walk shopping mall), restaurants,
Cineplex’s, sports and health clubs, schools, medical
facilities, 4 hotels and offices. The Dhs. 6.2 billion
(US$ 1.69 billion) Jumeirah Beach Residence covers 1.98
million square metes of gross floor area covering a length
of 1.7 kilometres of Dubai's pristine Jumeirah Beach coastline
– the last remaining stretch of golden sand outside
of the Jebel Ali Free Zone.
The community will – when complete - be self-sustaining
and will cater to 25,000 people. It will feature 36 residential
towers comprising 6,500 housing units and four luxury
hotel towers, offering everything from upscale shopping
and dinning to leisure and entertainment. Construction
began in 2003.
