The overall program objectives are as follows:

The Dubai Government Excellence Program aims at effecting a qualitative leap forward in the performance of the Dubai Government departments taking part in accordance with the Program's evaluation criteria

The Program also aims at:
  • Developing the Government Sector and upgrading its performance by way of providing incentives and work conditions which are motivating and which encourage a positive attitude and constructive competition within the sector
     

  • Supporting the development program in Government departments, improving productivity, increasing efficiency as well as achieving efficient use of expenditure and ensuring commitment to providing a high standard of services
     

  • Spreading the concept of excellence, innovation, quality, best management and professional practice and ensuring the implementation of the most developed and efficient work methods in the Government Sector
     

  • Underlining the importance of the Government Sector in directing and nurturing comprehensive development plans and providing an advanced work environment which encourages good performance in every field; confirming the role of that sector in serving the business community and supporting the private sector
     

  • Providing guidelines based on principles and specifications to measure how much progress has been achieved in the performance of Government departments in the Emirate
     

  • Ensuring that the Government Sector carries out its duties and functions well, providing high quality, efficient and professional service
     

  • Expressing Dubai's gratitude and appreciation to the Government departments that have distinguished themselves through their outstanding performance, productivity, services, programs, plans, and methods of work
     

  • Providing incentives to Government employees at every level, encouraging them to be creative, to achieve excellence as well as being committed to their jobs, to serve the public and to give efficient performance
