Dubai Pearl Development

The Dubai Pearl project is a Dhs. 3 billion ( US$ 810 million ) scheme to develop an upscale 929,000 square metre township in partnership between the Dubai Technology and Media Free Zone and the private sector Omnix Group. The project envisages the creation of a futuristic city which amalgamates traditional culture and heritage, with state-of-the-art technology to serve modern-day conference, business, leisure and residential requirements. Dubai Pearl is the largest privately owned project in the UAE and believed to be one of the largest private construction projects in the world. It is expected to be completed in May 2006.

The three hotel projects that will be a component of the project will together have over 1,500 rooms. There will be over 2,000 residential units plus a theatre and a 1,800-seater Opera House-that will be the biggest in the region. Over 112,000 square metres of commercial property will also be incorporated into the project with advanced facilities for businesses.
