Client:
IBA media is a leading publishing house in Egypt and the Middle East.
Their publications include PC World Egypt, Egypt Today, Business Today, and Electronica.
The
Challenge:
IBA required to revamp their three web sites for their 3 magazines PC World
Egypt, Egypt Today and Business Today and wanted to implement an advanced
content management solution that allows them to frequently manage and
publish their content online without programmer intervention.
The
sites have to be completely dynamic and offer many interactive features such
as discussion boards, polls, calendars, events, etc. Also the articles have
to be searchable by several search criteria.
The NetWave Solution:
Based on the requirements and our recommendations, we decided to use
"Instant", our Content Management Solution that is based on Microsoft's
SharePoint Server for document management, approval cycle, and
collaboration.
Editors write their articles using MS Word under SharePoint, they go into
their regular approval cycle until they are ready for publishing on the web.
"Instant" transforms the articles into XML files and publishes them to the
web server and they become ready to be circulated on the 3 web sites.
Using
any web browser, the Online administrators can update any article under any
category instantly and they can circulate articles among the 3 magazines.
The
site uses advanced indexing to allow for article search by author, date and
category.
The
system has a unified back-end administration control panel to control the
dynamic and interactive modules on the 3 sites.
